Does Termidor smell? |
Termidor has virtually no odor. |
How effective is Termidor? |
In trials across the United States and around
the world, Termidor has proven 100% effective in eradicating
termites in three months or less. |
How does Termidor work? |
Termites feed each other primarily by passing
food from mouth to mouth. They groom each other. They contact
each other as they forage for food. Termidor takes advantage
of these social behaviors. Termidor kills termites through ingestion,
contact, and through “The Transfer Effect™.”
The active ingredient in Termidor (fipronil) is slow acting
and allows the termite to continue its normal routine. But the
termite remains active long enough to transfer the termiticide
to a large number of other termites in the colony before dying
itself. |
How is Termidor different
than other options like bait systems? |
Termidor utilizes a unique action known
as the "Transfer Effect" to control termite colonies
up to six times faster than bait/monitoring systems. Termidor
does not repel termites. Since they can't smell, see, or feel
the termiticide, they crawl freely through the treated areas
and carry Termidor back to the colony. |
What is "The Transfer
Effect"? |
Once a termite has ingested or contacted
Termidor-treated material with its body, it becomes a "carrier."
Every termite it contacts will be infected, and will in turn
every termite it contacts. But Termidor works slowly, letting
termites contact many others before dying themselves. Although
the Termidor effect on individuals is intentionally slow, the
overall colony management is fast. It can be up to 6 times faster
than bait systems. |
Is Termidor really better
than other termiticides? |
Yes, Termidor has consistently show exceptional
results in more that 800,000 homes treated throughout the United
States since its launch in March 2000. In over eight years of
field trials with the United States Department of Agriculture
(USDA) Forest Service, Termidor has eliminated 100% of subterranean
termites in all tests. |
How can I buy Termidor? |
Sorry, it not sold to homeowners. Termidor
is only sold to licensed pest control professionals like Alexander
who have completed Termidor Certification Training. |
How will Termidor be
applied to my house? |
Termidor is a liquid that is applied after
it is diluted and mixed with water. Termidor is applied along
the foundation walls of the home to create a continuous treatment
zone. The application method is called "trenching and rodding"
and may sometimes require drilling holes into the concrete foundation
of the home for maximum protection. Interior treatment of the
home may also be required, depending on the extent of the termite
infestation and damage. |
Who makes Termidor? |
Termidor is a product of BASF.
